Program Description:
The Colorado Digital BOCES is pleased to offer CDE Approved Evaluator Certification Training specifically designed to meet the needs of leaders serving in online and blended learning environments. This 30 hour certification program is designed for:
- Experienced / licensed evaluators new to online or blended learning
- Unlicensed evaluators needing certification to evaluate teachers, special service providers and principals in an online or blended educational setting
- Experienced / licensed online or blended learning evaluators new to implementing the Colorado Model Evaluation System
- Online or Blended learning evaluators looking for recertification credit, networking or continuous professional learning opportunities related to evaluation
This blended professional learning course includes a day-two face-to face workshop along with additional online coursework required for certification. Topics addressed include:
- The critical effects of Senate Bill 10-191
- Educator Quality Standards - teacher, principal and special service provider performance standards, elements professional practices
- Evaluation processes, best-practices and time management
- Importance of effective feedback that improves teaching, learning and educator performance outcomes
- The Colorado Model Educator Evaluation System rubric and scoring procedures
- Inter-rater reliability
- Measures of student learning / outcomes
- Uses for state assessment in educator evaluation
- Alignment of school / district initiatives (programs, accountability systems and evaluation)
- Available resources that support online / blended environment evaluators in effective evaluation practices
